Why do we call it the Atom Side Table?

The shape of the table is borrowed from the mushroom that forms in the aftermath of a nuclear or an atom bomb explosion. Definitely not the right place to go looking for inspiration, the mushroom form does add a lot of drama to this piece. 

The result is an eye-catching functional side table that does look bomb!
